The Town of Parker is saddened to announce the passing of Mayor David Casiano.
Mayor Casiano served for 2 years as a Town Councilman from 2002-2004 and for 8 years as Parker’s 5th Mayor from 2004-2012.
Mayor Casiano was always available to the public under his ‘Councilman is In’ and ‘Mayor is In’ programs.
Mayor Casiano supported local churches, schools and outreach programs. He was instrumental in the building of many local businesses, infrastructure and Parks and Recreation. A few of his accomplishments include land acquistion and building of Parker Fieldhouse, Railbender Skate Park, O’Brien Park North (also known as Carnival Hill), Police Department, and the PACE Center. Mayor Casiano was instrumental in the planning of the relocation of the Library resulting in a much larger facility, the leasing of the Old Town Hall to Parker Task Force, and blocking the retail sale and cultivation of marijuana in Town. The square mileage of the Town increased significantly during his tenure. Mayor Casiano was proud of these accomplishments.
Mayor Jeff Toborg commented, “Mayor Casiano will be remembered as the ‘People’s Mayor’ who accomplished amazing things in office and always made it a priority to care for the people of Parker. He will be missed and his legacy will live on.”
